Perks of Sailing Solo: Auroville Edition

As much as I was exploring the true essence of an extraordinarily unique place, I was getting familiar with an unexplored side of myself as well. I was going to miss the whole feeling! I could never truly explore one place like this ever before. It was a lot of work getting myself out of the room on the first day to explore on my own because I was more used to overthinking about it before cancelling every time I were to do something all by myself. The feeling of successfully ignoring my inhibitions was absolute gold and the thriving accomplishments and discoveries kept me going from there! With almost all my close friends moving abroad, it was a much-needed self-mastery attained during my journey within!

Girl Goes Solo – Tour of A Lot of Firsts

Being an enthusiastic traveller by heart, I never quite understood the underlying dissatisfaction I had been bombarded with after almost every trip. I had always returned super annoyed from just about all my expeditions. Growing up, I thought it must be my parents’ weird ways of planning trips. After every study tour organised by my […]

A Day of Compassion

Compassion means to tread gently on the earth, be the one to bring smiles to others’ faces, consider all the ways one can positively impact nature, make recycling a part of life, eat healthily, cruelty-free and environmentally friendly meals, make an effort to help those in need, always look to make a difference and send […]

Ten Glorious Years of BTS

BTS had picked the direst theme to sing about. I mean the world needed to hear exactly these comforting tunes and sing along to these very words to keep themselves together. Self Love, the power of togetherness and appreciating life’s little joys became the major theme over the years! They have been on a journey to show their true quirky selves and speak their truths with their own variety shows, interviews and whatnot! But they have never forgotten to remind the fans that they are always waiting on the other side of the magic door…

Sudden Rise of Education Consultancies after COVID-19

One-two years ago, I didn’t even know these education agencies even existed but now, I see their advertisements online, on billboards, TV, newspapers – literally everywhere! And interestingly enough, every next person I know is working for one educational consultancy or another in Bangladesh! This is clearly not Bangladesh alone, it’s the same for most countries of the world sharing the same status quo.

Un-writerly Tasks Corporate Writers Must Do

There are a number of un-writerly tasks writers end up having to get done at work. Writers love to write! But when you need your writer for every single thing at the office ranging from proofreading the most random messages to building corporate profiles, there must be something wrong with your system.

Surviving with ADHD in Neuro-typical Workspace

Most workspaces around the world are designed for Neuro-typicals and they grind even the neuro-typicals in the worst possible manner. ADHD-ers often struggle with things that are normal to people so they struggle more in these situations. The employers are after the last bit of everyone’s creativity and devotion while offering almost nothing in return- unless of course, they are held against their merry will.

The English Recipe of Success

Jahangirnagar University’s Department of English hand won its first-ever football championship in the year 2020 despite being one of the oldest departments out there. I, on the other hand, had the pristine opportunity to witness the entire journey.

The piece below is exactly what happens when an avid sports enthusiast meets a passionate writer with a hobby of cooking.

Mitchell Johnson: The Mo Magic

Mitchell Johnson! This mustached guy and his express pace must have been giving the English batters nightmares since England’s dreadful defeat in the 1st Ashes test couple of weeks back at Gabba. The Adelaide pitch for the 2nd test should have been and looked batting-friendly and England players surely had been just hoping and praying that the flat deck of Adelaide Oval didn’t work for Johnson.

The Shining Star

Written: 24 July 2013 They said it was a mere teenage crush but trust me, I always knew you meant a whole lot more to me; my first love. See, even after 6/7 years I still am nowhere near over you! The very first time I saw you I was just scrolling through the stars […]

ISEFF 2022 Promotional Endeavors

Responsibilities grew as the date of the International Summit of Education for the Future neared. I was administering public affairs on the summit website and had a place in the team of organizers as per the information on the website—another big milestone for me. An interesting development surfaced when one author and TV personality wanted to be a speaker for the summit weeks before the event with all 50+ keynote speakers scheduled, briefed and ready to go.

Letter to Rosemary

Hope you are doing well; procrastinating less. With my messed-up sleeping patterns, I’m still struggling to stay productive. I failed to go to bed at a reasonable hour AGAIN last night (morning to be precise). The upside was the peaceful walk around the neighbourhood nice and early among the singing larks of dawn.

Beginning the ISEFF 2022 Journey

I had the rare opportunity of working with Abel Millot, a Frenchman set out to gather minded educationists from around the most distant corners of the planet and an enthusiast team of organizers, interpreters and so on. It’s inspiring to see him take all the technological challenges head-on when the International Summit of Education for the Future 2022 was constantly getting bigger.

Tibetan Jewels

I knew it was real Lapis by the vibrant royal blue. I grabbed it and reconfirmed the perfect match to the Lapis tortoise I already had at home. I had always dreamt of wearing it around my neck and been afraid to give it to a jeweler lest they should ruin my perfect stone. I knew I had to have it from the moment I laid my hands on it perhaps the shopkeeper knew it too. No, had he known how I imprinted on it, he would have stuck to a higher price, confident – I couldn’t leave without it.

Cotton Clouds and OCD Breakfast

I woke up to a scream. Rafsan, Avi, Nowshin, Taiaba stood by the window jumping up and down. Pissed yet curious, I dragged myself up the bed and walked up to the window shivering. I still had my thermals, woolen muffler and socks on. Yes, we all had to sleep in our day clothes under […]

Winter Drizzles

Kolkata greeted us with shut down streets and policemen gesturing us to go round and round in hopeless never-ending circles around town for over three hours. At last, we touched down around afternoon of 17th December in some street of the Kolkata New Market as our bus failed to reach the counter itself. I called […]
